Supporting women through healing, reconnection & restoration.
Abdominal, C-section & Scar Release
Scar release is a gentle, hands-on approach designed to support the tissues around a scar after they have fully healed.
After a C-section or abdominal surgery, healing doesn’t only happen at the surface. The layers of skin, connective tissue and fascia beneath the scar can sometimes feel tight, restricted, numb or sensitive, and you may notice pulling or changes in the way your abdomen, hips or surrounding areas move and feel.
Scar release uses gentle, targeted techniques around the scar and surrounding tissues to encourage mobility, reduce feelings of restriction and help you reconnect with an area of your body that may have been through a lot.
At Revive, we don’t just work on the scar itself. We look at the body as a whole including the abdomen, ribs, hips, back and breath because everything is connected.
Whether your scar is recent and fully healed or has been with you for years, this treatment is about supporting comfort, movement and connection with your body, not changing what your scar looks like.
Who may benefit from scar release?
Scar release may be suitable for women with a fully healed scar who are experiencing tightness, pulling, restriction or simply feel disconnected from the area. This may include scars from:
C-section births
Endometriosis or laparoscopic surgery
Hysterectomy or other gynaecological surgery
Abdominal surgery
Other fully healed surgical scars
You don’t need to be experiencing pain or have a new scar to benefit. Even scars that are many years old can be assessed to see whether the surrounding tissues feel restricted.
Everybody and every scar is different, so your treatment is adapted to you, your history and how your body is feeling on the day.
